Teddy Bear Named as Accomplice in Heroin Operation
The Chicago Sun-Times reports today that as a suspect's car was being impounded for speeding in a school zone (you can get your car impounded for speeding?!), his girlfriend approached the scene and asked to retrieve some clothing and a teddy bear from the car.
One of the arresting officers thought the teddy bear seemed a little heavy and bulky. Upon further examination, 28 bags of heroin were found inside the bear. Because the girlfriend didn't actually take possession of the bear, and claimed that she didn't know what was inside of it, she was not arrested.
