Brazilian Officials Won't Condemn Prostitution


Brazil is proud of its anti-AIDS efforts among sex workers. To protect these efforts, the Brazilians turned down $40 million from the US Agency for International Development to combat AIDS, because receipt of the US money would require Brazilian officials to take a public stand expressing their opposition to prostitution.
